About the Role
Job Overview:
As a Journeyman Lineman at Primoris Services Corporation, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.
Responsibilities:**
* Construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical lines, including poles, towers, conductors, transformers, and related equipment.
* Perform duties such as setting poles, climbing poles, framing poles, stringing wire, operating various pieces of heavy equipment, and working with both energized and de-energized lines.
* Install and maintain electrical infrastructure, including substations, switchgear, and other related components.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical system issues, making necessary repairs to restore power.
* Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, including OSHA and NESC.
* Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment safely and effectively.
* Work effectively as part of a crew, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency outages as required.
* Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
* Completion of an accredited Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship program.
* Valid Journeyman Lineman certification.
* Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman.
* Extensive knowledge of electrical distribution and transmission systems, including construction, maintenance, and repair techniques.
* Proficiency in operating various tools and equipment used in lineman work, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other specialized vehicles.
* Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures, grounding practices, and lock-out/tag-out protocols.
* Ability to climb poles, work at heights, and lift heavy objects.
* Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel to different job sites as needed.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
