Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Newsletter subscribers

When you subscribe to The EcoRoles Brief, we collect your email address and the role you select (Sustainability Professional / Hiring Manager / Both). We use this to send you the newsletter and to understand our audience. Nothing else.

Contact form submissions

When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.

Usage data

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, how long people stay, and where traffic comes from. GA4 collects anonymized behavioral data. It does not collect personally identifiable information. You can opt out via Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Infrastructure

EcoRoles is hosted on Vercel and uses Supabase for its database. Both services may log standard server data including IP addresses and request timestamps as part of normal operations. We do not access or use this data for any purpose beyond security and uptime monitoring.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to send The EcoRoles Brief to subscribers who have opted in, respond to contact form inquiries, understand site traffic and improve content, and maintain the security and performance of the platform. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Email communications

By subscribing to The EcoRoles Brief, you consent to receive our weekly newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time and we will remove you promptly. We send transactional email via Resend. Your email address is stored securely in our database and is not shared with Resend for any purpose beyond delivery.

4. Data retention

Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe, at which point your record is deleted from our active subscriber list within 30 days. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted.

6. Cookies

EcoRoles uses cookies only for analytics (Google Analytics 4). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party retargeting. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

7. Your rights

You have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you, request deletion of your data, and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@ecoroles.com.

8. Children

EcoRoles is intended for professional audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 16.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. When we do, we'll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
