Neutron Fluence Analyst Intern - Summer 2027

Idaho National Laboratory · Idaho Falls, Idaho

$27 – $41/hr

Posted October 20, 2026·Closes November 4, 2026

About the Role

The intern will leverage results of stochastic neutronics modeling at the Advanced Test Reactor to correlate tallied neutron fluence in the beryllium neutron reflector with observed age-related effects such as cracking. The result will be to better characterize aging in reflector regions, especially in locations not possible to inspect. Observed aging effects from past inspections will be available as benchmarks.

This team works a 4x10 schedule onsite at our Advance Test Reactor campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship.
