QA/QC Manager

Position Overview

SunEnergy1 is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control across utility-scale solar, BESS, and electrical infrastructure projects. This individual will ensure construction activities meet engineering specifications, contractual requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes while minimizing defects, rework, and project risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans, procedures, and inspection protocols.
• Oversee quality activities across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction.
• Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Monitor subcontractor and vendor quality performance.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and project turnover.
• Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
• Maintain inspection records, testing documentation, and project quality reports.
• Support client audits, project closeout, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Project Management, Engineering, and Construction teams to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of QA/QC experience in construction, EPC, renewable energy, or electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, substations, or large-scale electrical construction strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of civil, structural, and electrical construction practices.
• Experience developing QA/QC plans, inspection and test plans, and managing corrective actions.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, ASTM, and applicable industry standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with utility-scale solar PV and battery storage projects.
• Substation, medium-voltage, and high-voltage electrical experience.
• ASQ, CQM, or other relevant quality certifications.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
