Woodard & Curran is seeking an experienced Senior Water Distribution Technician to help maintain and improve critical water distribution and wastewater collection infrastructure. This role is ideal for a skilled field professional who enjoys solving problems, leading by example, mentoring teammates, and making a direct impact on the communities we serve.

You'll serve as a technical leader in the field, working closely with the Lead Water Distribution Operator to support daily operations, complete complex repairs, and help ensure reliable utility service for our customers.

 

Schedule & Incentives

 

Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

This role includes participation in a rotating on-call schedule and emergency response as needed.

 

Additional Benefits:

  • $1,000 sign-on bonus
  • $200 weekly on-call stipend during assigned rotation

What You'll Do

 

  • Perform advanced maintenance, repair, and installation work on water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • Install, repair, and replace water mains, service lines, valves, hydrants, meters, and related infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot leaks, system failures, and operational issues.
  • Support and coordinate daily field activities with the Lead Water Distribution Operator.
  • Mentor and train newer technicians, sharing best practices and technical expertise.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including backhoes, excavators, and loaders.
  • Locate underground utilities and interpret utility maps.
  • Respond to water main breaks, service interruptions, storm events, and other emergencies.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Complete work orders, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
 

What You'll Bring

 

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five or more years of experience in water distribution and/or wastewater collection system operations and maintenance.
  • Florida Class III Water Distribution License required (Class II preferred).
  • Florida CDL preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or training field personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of utility construction, water distribution, and wastewater collection systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot field issues and work independently.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Successful candidates who enter the offer staff will be required to clear a pre-placement background and motor vehicle check, drug screen, and physical.
 

Compensation

 

$26 - $32 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and licensing.
